The carollers will be gathering at Dieppe City Hall on Friday, December 12. The City’s Christmas Sing-along starts at 6:30pm and goes until 8:30pm, at Place 1604 behind City Hall. The free event includes performances by the Neil Michaud Choir, Codiac Concert Band, Ginette & Sam and École le Sommet, as well as a Christmas Tree lighting, bonfires, and more.
Santa will be on hand for a Christmas Story Time at Dieppe City Hall/ Dieppe Public Library on Saturday, December 13, while the library is hosting an Elf Workshop from 9am to 4pm. A story will be read in English at 10am and in French at 1pm. This free event includes various Christmas-themed activities; donations for local food banks will be collected.
Local author Jennifer McGrath will read her book, Gadzooks the Christmas Goose, at the Moncton Public Library on Saturday, December 13, at 10am. There will also be a craft; event is geared to those 4 to 8 years old.
Home Depot will hold a ‘How to Build Pallet Coasters’ workshop for children ages 4 – 12 on Saturday, December 13, starting at 10am. The free event is held in the store; kids get to use hammers, glue, and paint.
Michael’s Saturday craft is a Yarn Snowman Canvas. Cost is $2/child, ages 3+. Drop in any time between 10am and 11:30am.
The Salisbury Baptist Church Junior Choir is presenting a Christmas Musical, Isaiah Jones and the Seekers of the Lost Christmas Treasure, on Saturday, December 13th, at 6:30pm (with a Christmas Cookie Social to follow) and Sunday, December 14th at 11:00am.
Skate with Santa on Saturday, December 13 at the Moncton Coliseum. This free event is from 2:30-4:30pm.
Santa will lace up his skates again on Sunday afternoon in Riverview. He’ll be on the ice at the Byron Dobson Arena (upper arena) from 2:30 until 4pm. The free event is sponsored in part by C103 and XL 96.9; there’ll be hot chocolate, treats and prizes!
The Atlantic Superstore on Main Street will hold a Gingerbread Decorating workshop on Sunday, December 14 from 11am until 1pm. The cost is $18/person; maximum two people per house. Superstore provides the pre-assembled house, royal icing, and all the candies – you do the rest!
Take a Sunday drive to Dorchester and enjoy a holiday afternoon at the Keillor House Museum. From 2pm until 4pm, there will be live Christmas music, with guests invited to join the caroling and enjoy cider and cookies. Admission is a donation to the food bank. The museum is known for its spectacular Christmas décor!
Start your week off on a festive note at Trinity Drive Atlantic Superstore. On Monday, the cooking school will host a Happy Holidays Baking class for ages 3 to 5. Cost is $9/person; call 383-4919 to register. The class will prepare Santa strawberries and marshmallow candy canes.
Starting on Tuesday, December 16, and running until Saturday, December 20, the Dieppe Public Library will have holiday drop-in crafts set-up in the children’s section. No registration required, during all library hours.
The Little Hands (ages 3 to 5) cooking class at Riverview’s Atlantic Superstore will be making scrumptious snowmen sugar cookies, marshmallow snowman straws and hot cocoa on Wednesday, December 17. The class runs 10am-11:30am, cost is $9/person. Call 387-5992 to register.
And if you're still looking for a photo with Santa, he's at Champlain Place until Christmas Eve. His hours are: Mon-Fri, 11am-8pm, 10am-8pm on Saturday, and noon-5pm on Sunday. He says goodbye at 3pm on Christmas Eve. Santa also likes to visit the Delta Beausejour; you can find him next to the fabulous gingerbread house on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturdays from 5pm to 8pm. He asks that you bring a donation to the food bank.
