Champlain Place Walkers: For 25 years, people of all ages have joined together to walk the wide halls of Champlain Place before the shop doors open for the day. Lots of room to push a stroller around – or even have a toddler burn off some energ – before the stores open for business. If you’re interested in checking it out, the group is holding an anniversary celebration this Tuesday, February 24, from 7:30am until 9:30am. You can also request information at the serviCentre by Entrance 8 (near Walmart), or by phoning 855-6255 ext. 202.
Crossman Community Centre/Kay Arena Cruzers: Strollers and walking aids are welcome on the track at the Kay Arena every day from 10:30am until 12:30pm. The gym at the arena is also open for Parents & Tots from 10:30 until noon Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. This is a free, drop-in resource.
Moncton Coliseum: When there aren't events on the go, the Coliseum opens its doors to walkers from 8am until 4pm Monday through Friday, from October 1 until March 31. You can check their schedule online each month to see what days are available; you can also request a copy at the box office. (FYI: Six laps is about 1.6km, or just more than 1 mile, if you’re tracking that kind of thing.) Here’s what’s on the schedule for the rest of February:
Monday, February 23: Walking in the Coliseum
Tuesday, February 24: Walking in Exhibition Hall
Wednesday, February 25: Walking in the Coliseum
Thursday, February 26: Walking in the Coliseum
Friday, February 27: Walking in Exhibition Hall
Saturday, February 28: Closed to walkers
Sports Dome: The Moncton Sports Dome is open to walkers on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 12:30pm until 1:30pm.
